Tuesday February 6, 2018 Troubles

When troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.  James 1:2-3

Today, God gave me disctinct readings on how to act when there is trouble.  Life lessons abound and only I can determine how I will react to them.  Zig Ziglar says it is 10% about what happens to you and 90% about your attitude.  I think Scripture would agree.

Job after learning that he had lost his donkeys and oxen, his sheep and goats, camels and finally all his children in the matter of a few moments, he fell to the ground and said… “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.  The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”

Matthew reminded me “Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged.  You’ll receive the same judgement you give”.  I took it to mean about deciding what is BAD and what is GOOD!   There are endless stories in my life that what I thought was the worst tragedy, ended up providing a good outcome.

So how can I be joyful when I am dealing with troubles?  Only through prayer and trusting God.  I think most of the time when things don’t go as planned, I have to deal with my control issues FIRST and then once I turn the situation over, the rest works out because I am not the Queen of Everything.  Even though my daughters gave me the mug that says I am.

Lord help me through the troubles that are part of being a human.  Giive me a gracious heart to accept and ive back to You the overwhelming and discu\ouraging because truly YOU are the only one who can impact change.  My life is in Your hands.
