Sunday June 25, 2017 Fear

Jesus said to the twelve: “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.  What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.” Matthew 10:26-27

FEAR is the most devastating four-letter word!  It has stopped so many from being all they were called to be.  It has held back good companies from becoming great, philanthropic organizations from achieving the purpose for which they were created and individuals who make excuses instead of a difference.  What scares me more than anything is that those who do evil, seemingly are not inhibited by FEAR.  Those who are filled with evil do not ever seem reluctant.  They step out boldly and take what they want in a world that does not retard their progress.

Jesus told the disciples to go boldly where no man has gone before.  He invites us today, to proclaim from the housetops what He shared and to passionately embrace our truth… that Jesus is the WAY to eternal life.  He knew that persecution lay ahead for Him and for those He had chosen as His own.  If each of us push fear out and act in the strength that He gives, the “False Evidence Appearing Real” will be replaced with confidence that God can provide if I only ask Him to do so.

Deacon Steve when he preached on these verses last night asked the congregation, “Do you live in Fear or in Love?”  Both are very strong and can dominate one’s spirit.  The Indians have a saying that two wolves live inside of each of us.  One is Fear and the other is Love.  The one who grows stronger is the one you feed. Which wolf eats today is up to each person to decide every moment of every day.

Lord help me to live in Your love and confidently step out in faith to live as You have asked me to live, to love as You have shown me how to love.  I choose today to feed Love!
