Saturday February 25, 2017 Wholeheartedly

Because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.  Numbers 14:24

One of the most discouraging times in Scripture is when ten of the Israelite spies went into the Land flowing with milk and honey and reported back that the people should not proceed.  This caused the people to spend an additional 40 years roaming the dessert.  How could anyone who had witnessed the miracles of their rescue from the Egyptians, manna from the sky and water from rocks question for one minute that God could not provide a safe haven in this new place.  Two of the twelve spies were confident in God, Caleb was one.  Joshua was the other!

Being confident and wholeheartedly committed to obeying God is the goal of any true follower of Christ.  How wonderful it will be to hear that description given at the pearly gates.  Jesus said he would spit out the lukewarm and I believe Him.  The heart that is entirely committed is a beautiful thing.  Finding something that excites and motivates me to be more than I was changes everything.  There is a reason to get up in the morning.  There is a power in being wholeheartedly committed.  Purpose springs eternally through the morass of distractions.

Lord please help me to be wholeheartedly committed to You!
