For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:38-39

Nothing can separate me from the love of God.  That truly is reassuring when life indeed appears to be spinning out of control.  Many Catholics are pleased with election results this morning.  They did not want to elect Hillary because of her stand on abortion.  I have prayed without ceasing about this election.  There are very many who are afraid of Trump leading our nation  because of his outlandish nature.

I lived in MN when Jesse Ventura was elected as Governor.  He ran and was elected on promises of CHANGE.  Once in office, he learned very quickly that he was powerless to make any change without the support of politicians.  The Congress makes the laws and the budget and the only power that Jesse had was the power to veto.  So NOTHING happened during his tenure.   NOTHING!

In this election, Republicans have won the majority in both houses but there is very little unity with President Trump on issues.  So in all likelihood, it is going to be a difficult four years ahead.  That is why it is so important to remember today that God is in charge.  He knew from the dawn of time who would win this election and will continue to love His people no matter who sits in the White House.  NOTHING can separate us from the love of God.  I choose life.  I choose to believe that God is in charge and His kingdom will prevail.

Lord help me to be a good citizen of this country but to always remember that this is my temporary home.  I belong in heaven and must live a separate life.  One of love and commitment to YOU!
